CopyShot Privacy Policy

CopyShot collects no data. Everything it does happens on your Mac. Nothing you capture ever leaves your computer.

What CopyShot does with your content

CopyShot reads text from screen areas and images you choose, using Apple's Vision framework, which runs entirely on your Mac. The recognized text goes to your clipboard. CopyShot makes no network connections to transmit your content, and it contains no analytics, no trackers, and no third-party services.

Capture history

CopyShot keeps your recent captures (up to 10) on your Mac so you can reopen a recent result. You control retention in Settings → Privacy, including turning history off entirely and clearing it at any time. History is stored only in CopyShot's own sandboxed container on your Mac.

Permissions

Screen Recording — required by macOS for capturing the screen areas you select. CopyShot captures only when you trigger a capture.

Accessibility (optional) — only if you enable Auto-Paste. It is used solely to press ⌘V into the app you came from after Copy & Return. CopyShot works fully without it.

Translation

Translation uses Apple's on-device Translation framework. macOS may download a language model from Apple once; your captured text is not sent anywhere by CopyShot.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will appear at this address with a new date. Since CopyShot collects nothing, there is little to change.
